Analysis of High-Tech Industry’s Development in Shandong Province Based on PLS# Analysis of High-Tech Industry’s Development in Shandong Province Based onPLS * Xu Yang * Xing-yuan WangConference paperFirst Online: 07 January 2015Part of the Proceedings of the International Conference on IndustrialEngineering and Engineering Management book series (PICIEEM)## AbstractFrom the perspective of high-tech industry’s development in Shandong province, this paper firstly identifies the influencing factors of high-tech industry’sdevelopment in Shandong province. Then those factors and the process ofdevelopment in 16 years (1997-2012) are analyzed by clustering analysis usingthe data from the statistical yearbook. Moreover, this paper creates a modelto predict the trend of high-tech industry’s development in Shandong provinceby partial least squares (PLS) regression. After the analysis of regressioncoefficient by clustering analysis, importance of each factor is gained, andbased on the result we can forecast the tendency of high-tech industry’sdevelopment in Shandong province in the future. Ultimately, the researchresults can be the decision basis to promote the development of high-techindustry in Shandong province rapidly.## KeywordsHigh-tech industry Influencing factors Partial least squares regressionShandong provinceThis is a preview of subscription content, log into check access.## References 1. 1.Han-hui Hu, Lang-feng Wang.
